Hi I'm Eli Fairfield. I'm the senior vice president for LA North, LA West, and Orange County here in beautiful Southern California. So I run Southern California for New American Funding which consists mostly of Santa Barbara down to San Clemente as well as out to the Coachella Valley.
I think the biggest- you know the biggest thing about our region compared to you know spots around the country that I've noticed is is our diversity. So you know Manhattan Beach, Newport Beach, Montecito, those are real big expensive area homes: jumbo loans, broker loans, niche type products, and then we also have everything from first-time homebuyers, bond loans, FHA product, so we really have such a diverse group that it's all smushed into one thing which definitely makes us unique.
You know everyone- everyone looks at numbers in mortgage and putting up big numbers I think is a big accomplishment, but you know I do like all the growth I've seen over the years, which I think is even a bigger accomplishment than the numbers. We've had so many success stories of people that started as a processor moved to a better role, someone that started as a loan officer moving into a branch manager role, you know branch managers promoted to regional managers. There's been so much you know in our growth that has created accomplishment. That's really what I'm most proud of at the company.
So, you know, the big thing that makes New American Funding different, at least what I notice, is you know the company culture, which a lot of companies talk about their culture- I feel like we do have that small company feel even though we're not so small of a company anymore. So it's- it's really hard to put your finger on what company culture is, but it really is what what separates us I think from a lot of our competitors. You know, a lot of us feel like we really have our work family at work which, you know, is really important to enjoy your job. I think a lot of people this company do enjoy their job. They love the company and they love all the fun events and activities that we do.
I mean the biggest- the biggest thing you know for recruits out there when you're trying to figure out you know where your next home is, a lot of us this company feel like this is the company we're going to retire at. Mortgage is such a transitional business with people moving you know two times a year, sometimes more than that. You know a lot of New American Funding loan officers have been here four or five plus years and I think that says something about the company as far as, you know, this is the home that people want to spend the rest of their career at and I think that's really important when you're considering making a move for a company.
