This a demonstration of my assembly of this media fireplace. First step: go to Home Depot and buy a box of 2" gold deck screws and a bottle of wood glue. Then take the 2" screws provided and discard. When assembling, the provided 2" wood screws are not aggressive enough to bite into the wood with the predrilled holes and just spin causing a poor bond. Use the deck screws like I did and you'll get a rock solid hold. Then when you install the pegs use the wood glue for extra strength
2 other issues I had: The bracket to hold the wood piece above the fireplace is poorly designed. With the provided holes, it interferes with the fireplace causing it to not be flush. Move the plate up a half inch and screw the screw in. It will now clear.
The other issue I had is with the LED light under the logs. No matter what I tired I could not get it to lay flush. I even took out half of the crystals to diffuse the light. There is a strip of light visible and I plan on getting some black RTV sealant to finish it off soon
Otherwise a really nice piece. Durable finish on the unit and the heater is silent and puts out great heat. The hinges on the cabinets doors are top notch. I like the frameless cabinet doors and the contrasting color. The stand gives it a contemporary look and is easy to clean under. Easy to assemble. I highly recommend a power screwdriver to save your forearm. Would recommend
